Killer Heels or Cosy Flatties?

Are you a fan of the sky scraping,
totter along at a snail's pace, die-for-your-fashion footwear?

Or are you determined to stay as near to the ground as possible while making those strides?

Considering that the average person will walk the equivalent distance of FOUR times the circumference of the Earth during their lifetime, I guess having a pair or two of comfy shoes is pretty important.

For those of us who have, in the past, succumbed to the lure of the killer heel and been rewarded with lifelong companionship of this:

 Hallux valgus (a.k.a. bunion.)

the flattie is now the only option.

I console myself this will never happen to me:Naomi Campbell

And new research
here

says that people who wear flat shoes are more 'agreeable'.
A little comfort for the sole. (Sorry)

Are you a killer heel fan or a flattie afficiando?

P.S. Not a gender biased question, Nicholas Sarkozy or Bono may comment, if desired.

I loved cuban heels, (shunned stilettoes) but due to a damned Hallux valgus am condemned to flats forever:)

Such great photos, Mari.
I am very much an outdoors person so I do like my 'flats' but since my kids have got bigger and I'm not chasing them around, I do like to wear a bit of heels, mainly wedges, makes you feel good. I'm going to check back later to see if Bono comments:)

Niamh - you too, blessed with a bunion. Ah well, at least you are "agreeable"!
Brigid - the heel does have the feelgood factor but for me, at a price. Still waiting for Bono's tuppence worth...

A definite flattie, Mari. Having been very tall very young I've always appreciated the floor. I don't think I could totter if it killed me, which it probably would. Four times round the earth? That's incredible. I'd better get going, having only just made it to the kitchen today. Hope you're well and the holidays are filling up. DX

HI Debbie. Holidays are always a good time for my hallux valgus, being regularly aired in flattie sandals.
I, too, often wonder how people can totter so far from the floor, much better to keep it near...
Enjoy the holidays
